Terra Incognita
Meet the diverse communities that form the history and heritage of the Americas: the Maya Xocén of Mexico, the Nuxalk of Canada, the Kogui of Colombia, and the Ngäbe-Buglé of Panama. These encounters will broaden your perspective on the relationship between humans and nature, and on the richness and beauty of the traditions that shape our world.
Highlights
Colombia – At the heart of the Sierra Nevada
Embark on a 10-day immersion with the Arhuaco and Kogui communities, guardians of the ancestral traditions of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, considered the “heart of the world.” Guided by locals, you will discover their cosmovision, their sacred bond with nature, and their harmonious way of life. Continue your journey to the La Guajira desert to meet the Wayuu people, a matrilineal society renowned for their colorful weaving and resilience in arid conditions. An authentic journey into living traditional cultures.
Mexico – Xocén, at the heart of the Maya world
Stop in Xocén, where today’s Maya continue to uphold a way of life rooted in transmission and community. Visit several Maya villages to experience their customs and daily life: baking bread, exploring the market, learning about sacred melipona bees, and participating in a guayabera workshop. Taking time to understand the modern Maya is also embracing a different relationship to the world: slower, more grounded, and deeply collective.
Guatemala – Immersion with the Q’eqchi’ of Petén
In northern Guatemala, the Q’eqchi’ communities live in harmony with the tropical forest. Over six days, you will share their daily life: traditional cooking, medicinal plants, jungle survival skills, and camping near the archaeological site of El Mirador. This immersion reveals another way of inhabiting the world: simpler, slower, and deeply connected to nature.
A Wild Odyssey
This adventure is guided by the wildlife of the Americas. Following passionate local experts, you’ll have the chance to spot rare endemic birds, observe bears in their natural habitat, or encounter stingrays. Some stages even offer opportunities to take part in conservation projects. This adventure is perfect for those who wish to help preserve the beauty of our natural world.
Highlights
Alaska – Marine and terrestrial wildlife between Seward and the Kenai Peninsula
In southern Alaska, the Kenai Peninsula offers diverse ecosystems rich in wildlife. From Seward, boat excursions bring you close to humpback whales, orcas, sea lions, and puffins in Kenai Fjords National Park. On land, guided hikes through coastal forests provide encounters with black bears, moose, and a variety of birds. Less crowded than Denali, this region offers an authentic immersion in Alaska’s wilderness.
Costa Rica – Corcovado & Isla del Caño, a sanctuary of life
On the Osa Peninsula, Corcovado National Park is one of the planet’s richest ecosystems, a true refuge for Central American wildlife. With a naturalist guide, explore the primary rainforest in search of howler monkeys, tapirs, sloths, scarlet macaws, and sometimes even the elusive jaguar. You’ll also visit the marine reserve of Isla del Caño, with its crystal-clear waters and pristine coral reefs, home to stingrays, turtles, white-tip reef sharks, dolphins, and even whales.
Belize – At the heart of nature
In the Community Baboon Sanctuary, follow the tracks of the endangered howler monkey, guided by local experts listening for their powerful calls echoing through the forest. Further west, the Mountain Pine Ridge Forest offers hiking and birdwatching across 430 km² of waterfalls, natural pools, and nearly 400 bird species. Then head to Tobacco Caye, a small island on the world’s second-largest barrier reef, where snorkeling, kayaking, and paddleboarding reveal Belize’s vibrant marine life.
Into the Wild: The Call of Nature
Here, the landscapes and ecosystems of the Americas take center stage through immersive experiences: paddling through mangroves, hiking in the Andes, camping by the riverside, or sleeping in a treehouse deep in the forest. Whether you travel as a family, with friends, or as a couple, our experiences adapt to all ages: gentle treks, cabin stays, nature workshops, or survival skills training.
Canada – The wild west
Between ocean, rainforest, and misty mountains, the Vancouver, Victoria, and Campbell River region offers spectacular wilderness. On Vancouver Island, hike the Juan de Fuca Trail with its Douglas fir forests, remote beaches, and waterfalls. Further north in Campbell River, head out to sea to watch humpback whales, orcas, seals, and, at low tide, black bears on the shores. For the curious, kayaking excursions provide safe and respectful encounters with the island’s rich marine life.
Nicaragua – The charm of Ometepe Island
Formed by two volcanoes in the middle of Lake Nicaragua, Ometepe is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, home to exceptional biodiversity and a well-preserved rural lifestyle. Activities include hiking the Maderas Volcano through tropical rainforest inhabited by howler monkeys, exploring pre-Columbian petroglyphs, and relaxing in the clear waters of Ojo de Agua. For more adventure: paddleboarding on Lake Nicaragua or kayaking along the Istian River isthmus, a mangrove rich in endemic species.
Panama – Boquete and the heights of Barú Volcano
Discover the valley of Boquete, nestled in the Chiriquí mountains with its cool climate, cloud forests, and renowned coffee plantations. After visiting an artisanal finca and learning about roasting, the adventurous can climb Barú Volcano, the country’s highest peak, offering breathtaking views of both oceans on clear days. A high-altitude journey mixing agriculture, nature immersion, and personal challenge.
